MATT + NATALIE
One Whitehall Place, London
“David & Jane are phenomenal, they captured our wedding day in photos that we will treasure Forever, we would and have recommended them to our friends & family”
Theres just something special about shooting weddings in London, I think its the splendour of the buildings, the sheer weight of history in the surroundings and non more than One Whitehall Place; the home of the National Liberal club graced by the likes of William Gladstone & Winston Churchill no less, and now the the venue for Matt & Natalies awesome wedding celebrations!
Matt & Natalie are amazing human beings, from our first Skype meeting to when we met for drinks whilst we were teaching in London they are such fun to be around, add to that the hospitality and friendship from their family & friends on the day made this an amazing fun wedding day!
One Whitehall Place Wedding Photography
This was such a fun day…. we arrived at Natalies house, filled with family & friends and already such a great atmosphere, hair & make up in full flow and you just got that feeling that this was going to be a great wedding in London. We made our way through a very hot & sunny London with Natalies family all on a coach singing & dancing to Palestinian wedding songs, the atmosphere was amazing. The ceremony was at St Georges Cathedral in London where Natalie attended as a child and was such an interesting, emotional & colourful ceremony and then outside to a crazy confetti and an old red routemaster bus (well what else in London) to take the guests on to the reception.
Charing Cross Station
On the way to the reception at One Whitehall Place Matt & Natalie wanted to stop for photos at Charing Cross Station, this was the central point for their commute to meet each other on their earlier dates and so it was that we journeyed around central London in a vintage Rolls Royce, past Trafalgar Square packed with tourists eagerly trying to get a view of who was inside with Matt & Natalie taking it all in their stride.
One Whitehall Place, London
You really have to see the inside of this iconic London wedding venue to appreciate just how dramatic this venue is and looking at the portraits adorning the stunning staircase you see the history attached to the building. A large portrait of Winston Churchill greets you on arrival and keeps an eye over proceedings. We walked into the gardens at the front of One Whitehall Place and, well we just had to stop traffic with the wedding party walking down the road and Matt & Nat in fits of laughter, the day was just getting more fun and we just couldn’t stop laughing. Wedding breakfast was served in the impressive suite and after entering to drums & pipes the speeches kept the laughter flowing.
We had an idea for a evening shoot on Golden Jubilee Bridges all we needed was a quiet bridge on a Saturday evening in the centre of London…. hey we did it. Fantastic first dance and a full dance floor meant we just had to stay and join the two families and their friends (who made us also feel like friends) for a drink. What a great end to a truly amazing day that we are so honoured to have been a part. Matt & Natalie… you guys rock!!!
Our approach to the day
To us capturing people in a natural documentary style is so important but we don’t want to forget that weddings are about family so capturing those family shots is just as equally important but we want to make it as fun as we can. Our goal is to tell the story of Matt & Natalies day from start to finish, to show the importance of their family, the fun and connections with friends but at all times the love they have for each other.
